Dear Thrive Movement,

When I was growing up we used to go to the shoe store and x-ray our feet. It was fun to see what our feet looked like stripped of flesh, and, at the time, we were told it was safe. Turns out it wasn't safe after all.

So what is it to know something? Is every understanding eventually replaced by a new and more accurate model of reality? How does that happen? And even more importantly, how do we deal with that process?

The capacity to think critically, and to integrate various kinds of knowing with what you "know" in your heart, are critical tools to create a thriving world, and to
intervene in all that is in the way of that.

This week's blog includes links to two films that confront the dominant paradigm of current knowledge and offer a great opportunity to reflect on what happens in you when your worldview is challenged. Knowing this about yourself is key if you are looking to be an effective, engaged person in an ever-changing world.

So gather some friends, check out this  blog and the movies attached, and ask yourselves:

What happens when my worldview gets rocked by new information?
Can I hold an idea as a possibility without having to believe it?
If one person can defy current "reality," doesn't that mean our current belief about reality is insufficient?

We look forward to hearing how it goes!

Sincerely,

Kimberly, Foster and The THRIVE Team
