====================

It’s like a bad joke. Last week, coal giants asked permission to dredge 3 million cubic metres of seabed inside the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area, and our Environment Minister replied “yes”.

We still have a chance to stop this dreadful plan. The Reef’s final line of defence, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA) is yet to give coal companies the special permit required to dump the dredge spoil inside this World Heritage Area.

GBRMPA head Dr Russell Reichelt has just days to make this crucial decision. So let’s send him thousands of messages today asking he reject dredge waste dumping inside the Reef Marine Park.

Take action: http://bit.ly/GBRMPA_FWD

Thank you.
