No doubt the astrological
highlight of the week comes on Friday late afternoon when the Moon in
feisty Aries comes into a perfect opposition with the Sun in
compromising Libra. However, this Full Moon is special because, the
earth will stand in-between the two luminaries keeping the light of the
Sun from reaching and reflecting off of the surface of the Moon, thus
creating a Lunar Eclipse.
All eclipses are harbingers of
change, but Lunar Eclipses, like we will experience this week, usually
indicate we have come to the culmination, fruition or ending of a
project, relationship or endeavor. Eclipses act like wild cards bringing
new people, opportunities or events into our lives that prompt and
guide us to make big changes. Even when it seems 'out of the blue' or
surprising, when all is said and done, we often realize this is exactly
what we had been working on attracting! The eclipse occurs at 25 Aries,
so you might want to look at your astrological chart and see what area
of your life might be affected. If it occurs very close to a planet, it
could indicate a very important change in direction as that planet is
energized into action. Eclipses follow 19 year cycles – what was going
on in your life in 1994?
The eclipse brings together the
courageous and independent spirit of Aries and the artistic,
cooperative, gregarious energy of Libra. One of the very important
messages for this eclipse is to bring our all – our complete personality
– strengths, weaknesses and everything to all that we do. We are
reminded that we are the magicians channeling the source to create our
lives. The power is within. We merely need to connect and let it flow.
AND, we live in the midst of other powerful magicians, often disguised
as ordinary people. Learning to appreciate and honor others is the same
as doing it for ourselves. We are not separate. What we give to others
we give to ourselves.
This Full Moon Lunar Eclipse is
a call to awakening and a major opportunity to get unstuck in our
lives. All eclipses spell change, but this one involving the cardinal
signs of Aries and Libra has a greater potential for getting our
attention – sort of like one of those horns they blow at sporting
events. The word dynamic comes to mind – that force that initiates
change and keeps the momentum going. This may be especially true since
Jupiter the planet of expansion is sitting in Cancer, another cardinal
sign, and will square both the Sun and Moon. Talk about dynamic!
Like a chick growing too big
for its shell, many of us will hear the call to take an important step
that may seem small at the time, but will turn out to be life changing.
Another message we may hear loud and clear is to do our homework,
develop our skills and become masters of our craft. Don't look for
shortcuts or try to short-circuit the process by rushing to the end zone
before you are ready.
In other news at the cosmic dance, we are looking at a highly productive
cycle during the next 7 weeks as Mars transits through efficient and
analytical Virgo. Energetically we are grounded, conscientious and
hard-working with the patience to attend to all the details. If you have
a job or project that requires consistent and devoted effort now is the
time to tackle it. Virgo is not driven by ego or the need for
recognition, so this is a good time to take care of the background
activities, and get the structure and foundation in place. There may be
little or no glory but Mars in Virgo has the integrity to get the job
done. Mars is associated with motivation, energy, physical vitality and
sexual drive. Virgo can be a perfectionist and a workaholic so make sure
you strive for balance. This energy is also perfect for picking up a
new hobby, or learning a new skill – especially those which require
analytical brain power or manual dexterity.
Until next week, let go and wear loose clothes.

MOON IN AQUARIUS/PISCES |
Moon Void of Course 1:28 pm (PDT) – 2:06 pm
There is magic afoot this week and we get our first introduction
this morning as Mars makes a clever and magical connection to Saturn. If
you are able to creatively harness the clout of these two power brokers
you will be lucky indeed. Saturn provides the design and structure and
Mars brings the fuel and energy. This efficient pairing is a boon to any
project or endeavor.
Saturn is a one of the 'good guys' in this scenario and this is
the perfect time to really appreciate his contribution. As the Moon
glides into Pisces in early afternoon boundaries – Saturn's domain –
become particularly important. The sweet, sensitive and giving energy of
Pisces can literally run amuck without strong boundaries or guidelines.
Today we may want to 'give until it hurts' but beware of turning
assistance into self-sacrifice that leaves you feeling resentful and
depleted. Saturn to the rescue! This is an admonishment to give of
yourself with compassion and awareness.

MOON in PISCES
|
Mars enters Virgo 4:05 am (PDT)
A very productive and efficient cycle is kicked off today with
assertive Mars entering earthy and analytical Virgo. This is a dynamic
combination anchoring the determination of Mars in the disciplined and
conscientious wavelength of Virgo. Pace yourself, for Virgo intends to
finish what she starts. This energy also favors picking up a new skill
or expertise. This cycle continues through the first week of December.
Mars in Virgo tackling the practical and ordinary is in distinct
contrast to the Moon in sensitive Pisces which is drifting in its own
daydream today. This energy seems to create a communication portal
between our world and the world of angels, ascended masters, light
beings and your higher self. Even if you don't consider yourself to be
in communication with these mostly invisible realms, pay attention and
expect messages. You might be surprised at a new idea or creative
solution that seems to just pop into your head.
Daily Muse: Cease trying to work everything out with your
minds. It will get you nowhere. Live by intuition and inspiration and
let your whole life be Revelation. (Eileen Caddy)

astrologer, Tracie Kleiner, joins me for a look at the set of Lunar and
Solar Eclipse's that start this week. Please plan to join us at 11am

MOON in PISCES / ARIES |
Moon Void of Course 12:15 am (PDT) – 6:18 pm
Not feeling much like following the crowd? Good for you! Venus,
the planet of values, connecting with avant-garde Uranus is looking for
something out of the ordinary. This open-minded and non-judgmental
pairing is looking for fun, amusement, and opportunity in new people,
places and activities. We are feeling experimental and ready for some
changes. Every routine no matter how useful get's dull and stagnant
after a while. If you are in a rut personally or in a relationship,
break out of your habits and routines and try something new today.
A fun factoid that I can't imagine has even a shred of evidence
to back it up, says you add 7 minutes to your life every time you do
something brand new. It's worth a try isn't it? I once ordered a
hamburger with peanut butter. It was the specialty of a local diner.
Their guarantee was to replace your dinner on the house if you didn't
like it. It was actually pretty good! Who knew? Even small efforts can
shake up the status quo. Order tea instead of coffee; go crazy and buy
that fun little skirt that looks like it should belong to Katy Perry.
Daily Muse: There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in. (Leonard Cohen) |
OCTOBER 17
MOON in ARIES |
We might have missed
it last night as we were out searching for some crazy fun, but the Moon
marched into adventurous Aries (about the same time we may have been
ordering the chocolate covered insects at the local hot spot). As the
Moon collaborates with Uranus the awakener, it also awakens the on-going
squabble between Uranus and Pluto. Goaded into action by Uranus,
emotions may run red hot today. But here's a not so secret, secret. The
Aries Moon can be somewhat of an adrenaline junkie. Under its influence
we like to stretch ourselves and may even like argument or conflict for
the sport of it! Keep this in mind and try to direct your passions
toward an appropriate goal. The Uranus influence is novelty-seeking;
boredom is our enemy. Appease your 'need for speed' by tackling a new
sport or maybe trying to break a record or top a personal best.
Daily Muse: My most brilliant achievement was my ability to be able to persuade my wife to marry me. (Winston Churchill) |
OCTOBER 18
MOON IN ARIES |
Moon Void of Course 4:38 pm (PDT) – 12:27 am Saturday morning
Full Moon Lunar Eclipse 25 Aries 4:38 pm (PDT)
Emotions run even hotter today as the Moon moves toward a Full
Moon Lunar Eclipse in Aries the Warrior in late afternoon. However even
the independent and courageous Aries knows the importance of allies and
relationships. This eclipse is a teeter-totter of dynamic change and
finding the balance between personal desires and goals and relating
effectively and harmoniously with others. The energy is likely to be
combustible today and maybe even surprising. The effects of eclipses can
linger up to 3 or 6 months. Pay attention to what happens today,
because the information or connection you make may be very important
later.
Daily Muse: The purpose of relationship is not to have
another who might complete you, but to have another with whom you might
share your completeness. (Neale Donald Walsch) |
OCTOBER 19
MOON in ARIES / TAURUS |
Moon enters Taurus 12:27 am (PDT)
The dynamic fire of the Full Moon starts to subside today, especially as
the Moon enters peace-loving Taurus. We want to take our time to
absorb new information and insights. With Mars in conscientious Virgo
we may have a long and comprehensive 'to-do' list but when Mars opposes
Neptune in early evening we may feel like even the best laid plans go
awry. Mars represents our personal will and desires; and Neptune
reflects the collective. We may find it hard to assert ourselves and not
give in to what other people want. This energy is super-sensitive and
psychic but sometimes hard to control as our natural desire is to please
everyone else with little thought to ourselves. The idea of
self-sacrifice has emerged several times over the last several weeks and
with Mars in Virgo it's certainly something to consider as we apply our
efforts in self-less ways. Tonight surround yourself with people you
love and trust and bask in the glow of balanced give and take.
Daily Muse: I don't know what your destiny will be, but
one thing I know: the only ones among you who will be really happy are
those who will have sought and found how to serve. (Albert Schweitzer) |
OCTOBER 20
MOON in TAURUS
|
Moon Void of Course 2:02 pm (PDT) – 9:14 am Monday morning
Let's get physical! Taurus is an earthy sign ruled by Venus and
when the Moon is here we lust after everything physical – good food and
drink and leisurely days and nights. Enjoy the sensation of living in a
physical body. A lunar opposition to Mercury this morning interjects a
touch of mental and talkative energy. Why not use it to discuss where
you want to have brunch? The Moon's connection to Jupiter in
mid-afternoon gives us permission to indulge in what makes us
comfortable.
Daily Muse: The best years of your life are the ones in
which you decide your problems are your own. You do not blame them on
your mother, the ecology, or the president. You realize that you control
your own destiny. (Albert Ellis) |

Stress seems
to be everywhere. If you're one of the lucky ones who's not stressed
out, then be grateful you're living a life free of the influences of
modern society. Even if you're not feeling stress, chances are you know
people in your personal life, or career, who are a wee bit uptight.
Stress is in every aspect of our society. I won't point to specific
issues because they're pretty self evident. From the government to the
weather, things seem to be coming apart at the seams.
Thank goodness this isn't actually the case. In most ways, it's
business as usual. Of course, none of that makes it any easier to take,
so I have a few suggestions for ways to release some of the anxieties
you may be feeling.
First of all, find yourself a tree. You don't have to sit under it
in order to receive the calming energy that it can bestow, but it
doesn't hurt. You might even consider a hug or two. (Yes, it's a sappy
thing to do. Pun intended and delighted in.) The key is to get close
enough to that tree to feel its energy and have it feel yours.
Before you think me to be totally daft, remember that cultures all
over the world have either worshiped or respected trees as elders. Even
though they're plants, they have an intelligence, one that's certainly
far less violent than our own. Trees have immense patience and know
exactly what to do and when to do it.
I was amazed by the number of trees in our area that began to lose
leaves early this summer. I was worried that some blight had hit them
and spoke to an arborist, who informed me that they weren't sick at all,
just smart. Losing leaves was a form of life support, helping the trees
to make it through our intense heatwave. This shedding of leaves
relieved their stress.
Hmm, maybe that's why I've lost much of my hair. I like that idea.
Unlike trees, in times of stress, we often do just the opposite and
instead of conserving our resources, we go out and buy an new gadget or
take a trip and put in on a card. I think I'll take my cue from the
trees, or try to.
Some cultures used to talk to trees. They believed that if we told
them our problems, they would receive that information and send it down
through the root system to other trees, which would then pass them along
until someone, or something, found a solution. Once solved, the
solution would be passed back through the earth and the answer given to
us to, "solve on our own."Who's to say it doesn't work?
I talk to trees all the time. They keep secrets, love my sense of humor and are crazy about my singing voice.
Here's another idea for stress relief. Sit on a patch of earth. I
suggest wearing clothing. If you insist on nudity, make sure there's not
an anthill nearby. Once seated, just sit and feel the earth beneath
you.
Our planet is hurtling through space at an amazing rate. It's a
blessing we don't feel the motion. This stability in the midst of such
incredible speed is one of the most calming thoughts I can think of.
Imagine what it would be like if we could actually see or feel the
movement of the earth. Stability is a blessing, one that brings deep
calmness.
Communing with our planet is one of the most grounding experiences I
know of. Feel the earth pulling you to its center with its mass and
gravity. Then feel it pulling the stress right out of your bottom. It
works and may even tone up your glutei at the same time. (I see a new
fad coming. "Sit on the grass, firm up your . . . thighs.")
I'll offer another suggestion; listen to music. There's nothing
like music to soothe the savage beast, and what could be more beastly
than stress? Music makes me feel better and connects me with my past,
present and even my future.
There you are, three simple suggestions to help alleviate your
stress in these ridiculously interesting times. They're easy,
inexpensive and available almost anytime. They only require you to
participate, be conscious and enjoy the feeling of well-being that
ensues.
Now, I have a piece of earth under a tree beckoning to me. Hmm, since the cool temperature has slowed the ants down . . . nah.
To all of you, I wish peace, love, and a stress free week.

Your Crown Chakra is an energy center on the top of
your head. It is your direct line to divine guidance and your connection
to Universal Life Force Energy. It is also acts like a chimney,
releasing stagnant energy that is carried up through your energy body by
the flow of Earth's energy that comes in through your Root Chakra.
Sometimes when you have a lot of extra worry, don't rest enough, or have
a shifted Root Chakra your Crown Chakra gets blocked. When this
happens the energy that should be clearing out the top of your head
builds up in your head, making your brain run on overdrive. This is a
very common problem, one that I see in my clients all the time. If you
are feeling spacy and disconnected, having difficulty sleeping, having
difficulty focusing and finishing things, dropping/losing things and/or
experiencing anxiety and feelings of depression you probably have a
blocked Crown Chakra.
We live in a virtual world, we spend a great deal of time in
our heads, watching T.V. or using a computer, cell phone or tablet.
This creates an energetic habit of living in the upper half of our
Chakras. Energy builds up over time and before you know it your brain is
running like a hamster in a wheel!
There are several ways to counteract this energy problem.
The first is to make sure you spend as much time in your body as you do
in your head! Get outside and take a walk, do some yoga or go out
dancing! These activites renew your connection to the Earth's energy,
grounding and centering you.
Keep a black stone like Obsidian or Black Tourmaline next to
your computer. The stone will absorb some of the energy coming from the
computer so you don't have to! Extra electrical energy is part of the
build up problem!
Keep the worrying to a minimum. The energy of worry is very
intense and has a tendency to get trapped in your head. It helps a lot
to express worries on paper or out loud to a trusted friend, this
releases the energy of worry. Thinking about your worries causes the
energy to build up.
Get plenty of rest. Your energy body does a lot of work
while you are sleeping. Clearing and regenerating happens while you are
sleeping.
Get regular energy healing from someone who understands your
energy body. There are lots of things you can do to stay balanced but a
regular tune-up is really important to clear out all the nooks and
crannies!
